JEE Main Slot Booking 2024: What is slot booking?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will not allow slot booking for JEE Main 2024. This means that candidates will not be able to choose their preferred date and time for the exam. Instead, the NTA will randomly assign the JEE Main exam date and timings to candidates. Candidates will be assigned to a JEE Main exam centre based on the cities they selected during the application process. The NTA will release the list of exam centres along with the admit cards. The admit cards will contain all the information about the exam, including the date, time, and venue of the exam.
Only those who have registered for JEE Main will be able to download their admission cards. JEE Main 2024 will be held in two shifts on two distinct days: morning (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and evening (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) (3.00 PM to 6.00 PM).

What is Slot Booking?
Slot booking is an online process in which candidates choose their chosen day and time to take the exam from a list of available slots. Candidates will be able to determine when they will have to take the exam by picking their option. Typically, spaces are assigned based on choice and availability. The details of the designated slot are released by the authorities via the admit card.
JEE Main Slot Booking 2024
Candidates would not be able to book their JEE Main 2024 slots manually. The authorities have made no provision for scheduling JEE Main 2024 spots. The authorities assign the day, shift, and timings for JEE Main 2024 to the registered applicants at random. The exam city preference that candidates specified while filling out the JEE Main 2024 application form will be used to allocate centres. The entrance examination will last a few days, with two shifts each day: morning (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and evening (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) (3.00 PM to 6.00 PM). Both the JEE Main Paper 1 and the JEE Main Paper 2 will be held in two shifts.
JEE Mains Slot Booking 2024 Process:
Candidates are not allowed to book the slot manually for JEE Mains 2024. The slot is allotted by the NTA to the candidates randomly. However, the students will be eligible to select the city of examination. The slots are usually allotted based on preference and availability. Candidates should keep an eye on the important dates released by NTA. Following are the steps to be followed for JEE Main 2024 slot booking.
- Step 1: Visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Step 2: Click on the link 'NTA JEE Main 2024 Application' to register for the JEE Main 2024.
- Step 3: Enter all your details and make the payments.
- Step 4: Choose your convenient date of examination from the ‘Select date for computer-based examination for Paper 1 link’ option.
- Step 5: Submit the form to complete the slot booking process, and take a printout for future reference.
Please note that the student will only be eligible to select the city for the venue of the examination. No specific slots can be allotted to them by the NTA.
JEE Main 2024 Admit Card
The admit card for JEE Main 2024 will contain full information regarding the given slots. Registered applicants had to download their JEE Main admission card and double-check the information on it, including the exam centre, date, and time. Candidates are recommended to keep their JEE Main 2024 admit card safe because it is necessary throughout the admission process.
Procedure to download JEE Main Admit card 2024
The following process is to be followed for downloading the admit card.
- Visit the JEE Main 2024 official website.
- Select the link to the admit card.
- The admission card will be available in two formats for candidates to download.
- Candidates can access their admission card by logging in with their application number and password or their application number and date of birth.
- Select "Sign In" from the drop-down menu.
- Select 'Download Admit Card' from the drop-down menu.
- The JEE Main admission card will appear on the screen, and candidates should double-check all of the information.
- Candidates must print off the admission card for future usage once the information have been verified.
