The applicants willing to apply for Kerala Teacher Ability Test must go through the below-given eligibility criteria set as per the exam conducted body. There are four categories, eligibility for which is different for a different category.
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks. And, a two year Trained Teachers’ Certificate TTC / DEd which is conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with having at least 45% marks and NCTE approved 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary(or equivalent) with having at least 50% marks and a 4 -year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with having at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
OR
Other equivalent qualifications.
Graduation in B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed) or Trained Teacher's Certificate(TTC) conducted by the Board of Examination, Govt of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
B.A/B.Com/B.Sc with at least 45% aggregate marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed) per NCTE regulations.
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary(or equivalent) with having an aggregate of 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education(B.El.Ed)
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary(or equivalent) with having an aggregate of 50% marks and a 4-Year B.A/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Other Equivalent qualification.
BA/BSc/B.Com with an aggregate of 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the main subject (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other recognized Universities).
The candidates having MSc.Ed. Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology with an aggregate of 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply.
BA or equivalent with at least 45% marks and LTTC ( Learning, Teaching, and Technology) are eligible to apply.
Other Equivalent qualification
Those who acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter 31(XXXI) of Kerala Education Act And Rules are eligible to apply for KTET-4.
