IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria is set by the conducting authority. The eligibility criteria of IIT JAM must be followed by each candidate who wants to pursue M.Sc courses such as M.Sc (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc-PhD, M.Sc-PhD Dual Degree, etc at the IITs and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc. IIT Kanpur the organizing authority conducts the JAM exam at National level. IIT JAM exam is conducted once in a year by the rotational administrative authority. All candidates have the responsibility to prove that they satisfy the Minimum Education Qualification (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements(ERs). The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has extended the registration deadline for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM 2024) until October 20. The IIT JAM 2024 exam is scheduled to take place on February 11.
Who can give IIT JAM Exam ?
Answer: The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) is open to all Indian nationals who have completed their Bachelor’s Degree or are in their final year of a Bachelor’s Degree program with minimum marks as specified by the relevant IIT. Foreign nationals are also eligible to apply when they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

However, the minimum educational qualifications (MEQs) for admission to the Master's programs at the participating institutes may require a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or a CGPA/CPI of 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC-NCL applicants and 50% or CGPA/CPI 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST/PwD applicants. |

IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must check the IIT JAM 2024 eligibility of different course. If the candidate found ineligible at any stage of the admission process the applying institute has the right to cancel their admission.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree.
- General/ OBC(NCL)/ EWS candidates have at least 55% or 5.5 out 10 CGPA/CPI without rounding off.
- For ST/ SC or PwD category candidates have 50% or 5.0 out of 10 CGPA/ CPI without rounding off.
- If CGPA/ CPI is on a different scale, it would be mapped to a scale on 10.

IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria (ERs) for Physical Fitness
Read the below points to know the IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Requirements (ERs) in terms of physical fitness for admission into an institute after JAM exam:
- All candidates have to submit their physical fitness certificate from the registered medical practitioner.
- At the time of admission, the candidates may also undergo a physical fitness test by the medical board constituted by the applying institute.
- If the candidate is not found physically fit to pursue their chosen course of study, their admission is to be cancelled.
Important Notes
- Interested candidate must fulfil all the eligibility criteria for admission if any candidate fails in any criteria, then his/her candidature will be cancelled.
- Institute can cancel the admission of the candidate at any stage if he/she is found unqualified or ineligible as per the rules and regulations of the conducting authority.
