Quantum University PhD Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate possessing any one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission to a PhD program of the University:

• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7- point scale (or an equivalent grade
  in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational
  An institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or
  authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other
  statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and
  standards of educational institutions, or Colleges.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.
• Also, those who have qualified their Master's degree prior to 19 September 1992 will be eligible for 5% marks relaxation.

Quantum University PhD Admission 2020 Selection Basis

The University will offer admission to the candidates through the following process:

• Each candidate shall be required to take a Quantum University Research Aptitude Test (QURAT).
  • The Examination may be conducted through 'Proctored online Examination' or Pen & Paper Examination at campus or University designated centers outside the campus.
  • It will be held for the duration of 03 hours (180 minutes) & maximum of 100 marks. 
  • The entrance test syllabus consists of two sections - Section A will cover Numerical Ability, Reasoning, Graphical and Data Interpretation of total 50 Questions &  Section B will cover Program Specific Questions generally of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Level of total 50 Questions.
  • The qualifying marks of the entrance exam is 50% 
  • UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/SLET/GATE/Teacher fellowship holder or M.Phil degree holder are exempted from QURAT. Such candidates will be given admission based on the interview & documentation process.
• Final provisional admission will be done by joint merit of QURAT Marks (70% Weightage) and interview (30% Weightage).

Quantum University PhD Programme Duration 

The candidates who are seeking to apply for doctoral programmes can check below the duration fo the same:

• PhD programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, and a maximum of six years. However, in exceptional cases, this limit may be extended by the Vice-Chancellor by a maximum period of 1 year.
• The Women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) will be allowed a
  relaxation of two years in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates shall be provided Maternity Leave/ Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of the for up to 240 days.

How to Apply for Quantum University Roorkee PhD Admission 2020?

The university offers 3 ways to apply (online, offline & one to one modes). Below are the steps mentioned to fill the application form for doctoral programmes. In all the cases candidates need to make the payment of Rs 1000/- as a registration fee.

Online Mode:

1. On the official website of the university click on the Apply Now link
2. Fill the application form with all the relevant details and pay the application fee via debit/credit card.
3. Once the form will be submitted, note down the registration number which will be displayed on the screen. for further use.

Offline Mode:

1. Candidates can download the form from offline mode tab & then take a printout of the form.
2. Fill all the required details without any mistake. Paste a recent passport size photograpgh.
3. Attach self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates starting from matriculation.
4. After completing the application, the candidate should submit the application form along with a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Quantum University’ payable at Dehradun to the below address:

The candidates can register themselves by visiting the Campus, or any of their Admission Offices along with the Bank DD, in the name of "Quantum University" payable at Dehradun.
