Nalanda Open University
Nalanda Open University is the only University that has adopted the method of distance education. In 1987, the Government of Bihar passed an ordinance which led to the establishment of the educational institution. Named after the renowned Nalanda University, its aim is to impart education to the people who do not have the time to attend school or colleges on a regular basis, the housewives, the elderlies, people who belong to economically weaker section of the society.
It offers undergraduate degrees both in arts and science subjects, and Ph.D. programmes.
