DAIICT Gandhi Nagar Scholarships 2022
Each group receives a scholarship worth the same as the tuition cost for the duration of the programme (eight semesters only). The scholarship system for the 2016-17 academic year will be as follows.
Selection of Scholarship Winners: Scholarship Winners: Scholarship grantees will be chosen based on their performance in the CBSE-conducted entrance test, the JEE Mains Exam (Joint Engineering Entrance Mains Examination). The following would be the selection criteria
- Merit Scholarship: Scholarships will be given to the top five candidates who enrol in the programme and have an All India Rank of more than 5000 in JEE Main (conducted by CBSE) (n.b. smaller numerical value indicates higher rank: student with rank 01 is the best performer nationally). If there are less than five such candidates, the remaining scholarships (five less the amount given) may be shifted to the Merit-cum-Means category.
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Scholarships will be awarded to the top five students with the highest All India Rank in CBSE's JEE Main who enrol in the programme, subject to a means test. The yearly family income of the student's parent(s)/guardian(s) must not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/- per year in order to be eligible for this kind of scholarship. Every year, awardees would be required to produce appropriate documentation as proof of the aforementioned.
Rules for Merit Scholarship: The scholarship will be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis for a maximum of eight semesters (the program's typical duration) if the student meets the requirements listed below. Because the scheme does not cover the Summer Semester, a student who fails to meet a criterion in the Winter Semester of one academic year will not be eligible for the scholarship in the Autumn Semester of the next academic year.
- Minimum SPI: Every semester, the student's SPI (Semester Performance Index) should be at least 8.00/10.00. The scholarship will not be offered in the following semester if the SPI falls below 8.00/10.00 in that semester. If the SPI in a semester rises to 8.00/10.00 or above, the scholarship will be reinstated for the next semester.
- Pass in all Courses: The student should not receive a grade lower than a passing grade in any of the courses taken during the semester, i.e., a grade of DE or higher for courses with letter grades and a grade of P for courses with P/F grades. If a student receives a non-passing grade (F/NP/X) during any semester, he will be ineligible for the scholarship for the next semester.
A student who takes part of a semester's coursework at another institution under the transfer of credits provision will be ineligible for the next semester's scholarship. - Duration of Study: The student should finish all degree requirements within the program's standard study period.
- Probation or Disciplinary Action: The Institute should never put a student on academic probation or take any disciplinary action against them. No action should have been taken against the student for using unfair tactics in an examination or for plagiarism in a submission. If this criterion is not met, the scholarship will be revoked indefinitely.
- Scholarship other than DA-IICT: The awardee must not be receiving any other scholarship from the Government of India, a state government, or any other organisation.
