Eligibility Criteria for the UP Veterinary Exam 2023

Degrees in B.V.Sc. and A.H.
- The candidate must have passed 12th grade exams in physics, chemistry, biology, and English.
- For general category candidates, the minimum class 12 percentage is 50%. SC/ST/OBC candidates will be granted a 5% percentage relaxation.
- The minimum age requirement is 17 years, while the maximum age requirement is 25 years. The upper age restriction for SC/ST candidates is relaxed by 5 years.
PhD and M.V.Sc
- The student must have earned a B.V.Sc. and A.H. from a VCI-approved college.
- A master's degree in the relevant discipline is required for admission to the Doctoral programme, with an OGPA/ percentage of 6.5/10 for general category students, and a 6.0/10 OGPA/ % for SC/ST/PH category students. For the year in which the candidate graduated, the ICAR norms and OGPA calculations should be followed.
B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (College of Biotechnology)
- B.Sc. in Biotechnology/Industrial Microbiology: students must have completed class 12 with a minimum of 60% in aggregate in physics, chemistry, biology, and English as their primary courses. The minimum percentage required for SC/ST is 55%.
- M.Sc./M.V.Sc. Biotechnology: B.Sc. (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry)/B.Sc. (Biotechnology)/B.Tech. (Biotech)/ B.V.Sc. & A.H./B.Sc. (Agriculture)/ B.Sc.(Fisheries) with a minimum percentage required is 60% marks in UG level for general category candidates and 55% marks for ST/SC Candidate.
- Veterinary pharmacy and livestock extension diploma course
- Class 12 tests must be passed with 50 percent marks in physics, chemistry, biology, and English from the U.P. Board or equivalent. The qualifying test requires only a 45 percent score for SC/ST/OBC applicants.
- To be deemed eligible, the candidate must have taken the DUVASU PDT (Pre-Diploma Entrance Test) 2020 and passed the exam.
- At the time of counselling, all intermediate examination mark sheets must be presented.
