UCEED 2020 Draft Answer Key has been released on 21 January 2020. The exam was held on 18 January 2020 (Saturday) in online as well as offline mode. Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and is given by the candidates to enter the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program at several institutes. After the exam, IITB organises a Joint Admission Exercise which allows the candidate to get admission into a few prestigious institutions called as participating institutes. Additionally, there are other universities and colleges which do not participate in the Joint Admission Exercise but do accept UCEED scores.

UCEED 2020 Answer Key

The UCEED 2020 answer key and question paper has been released on the official website of UCEED on 21 January 2020. Check the details given below:

  • This answer key (Part A) can be used by the candidates to verify their answers, which are also made available in the form of Candidate Answer Sheets.
  • If a candidate believes that the answer key is wrong, they can contest the key by posing a challenge against it.
  • In case any discrepancy is found, it should be addressed to ([email protected]), on or before 27 January 2020.
  • Candidates have to mention “Comments on Answer Keys” in the subject of the mail.
  • The final answer key will be released on 04 February 2020.

UCEED 2020 Result

UCEED 2020 Result will be declared on 13 March 2020 on the official website of the UCEED. Just go through the Important points related to UCEED results that are mentioned below:

  • Candidates can download the result by using their user login and password (created during the registration process). 
  • The applicants who will qualify the exam will be able to download their scorecards.
  • It must be notified that hard copy of UCEED scorecard will not be sent to the qualified candidates.
  • Obtaining a rank does not necessarily a guaranteed admission in the B.Des. program in the UCEED Participating institutes.

UCEED 2020 Counselling

The UCEED 2020 counselling for the Participating Institutes commences from 04 July 2020. Candidates can apply for the admission to the B.Des programme after qualifying the UCEED 2020. Qualified candidates can apply for the admission at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic year 2020-2021.

Check all the details given below to understand the complete procedure of UCEED counselling:

  • The applicants have to fill an application form for B.Des Programme from 08 June to 30 June 2020.
  • Counselling processing fee for applicants of all categories and genders is Rs. 2000/- for B.Des admission application.
  • The candidates can give their preference for institute and specialisation in which they want admission.
  • The applicants can “freeze” their allotted institute, which is determined by UCEED rank and availability, or decline it.
  • The candidates can also choose to “float” their allotted seat, which signifies that they accept the current allotment but are open to a seat that suits their preferences better.

UCEED 2020 Exam Pattern

Candidates should check the UCEED 2020 exam pattern carefully as the question paper will consist of two parts. Questions from both parts are compulsory. The complete format of UCEED is given below:

  • Medium: The question paper will only be in English.
  • Examination Mode: The exam will be conducted online (CBT) as well as offline (PBT) mode. 
  • Exam Duration: Candidates will get 180 minutes (three hours) to complete the exam.

UCEED Exam Pattern for PART B (Pen-Paper Based Test)

  • This part will consist of only one question that is aimed at testing drawing skills which will require subjective evaluation.
  • The time duration for Part B will be 30 minutes.
  • Total marks allotted for Part B is 60 marks.

UCEED 2020 Syllabus

The UCEED question paper will have two parts and UCEED 2020 syllabus comprises topics from both the parts. Candidates can prepare for the exam as per the following topics mentioned below:

UCEED 2020 Preparation Tips

Preparation can be exhausting at times. Here are certain preparatory tips that would help candidates overcome the anxiety of exam and prepare efficiently.

  • Visualisation and spatial ability play an important part in the design. Visualise the figures, patterns and shapes given in question; and figure out to solve them graphically.
  • Understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
  • Solve sample papers. Prioritise quick solving questions and saving time.
  • Attempt mock tests and see the score. Derive inferences and aim to improve.

UCEED 2020 Admit Card

Candidates can download the UCEED 2020 Admit Card from 27 December 2020 onwards. If there are any discrepancies found in the admit card, get them corrected by 31 December 2020. Check all the information about UCEED hall ticket given below:

  • Admit card can be downloaded through the registration portal (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in)
  • IITB will issue the admit card to those candidates only whose registration will be complete in all aspects.
  • The admit card will contain various details like candidate's name, registration ID, Roll Number for UCEED, photograph, signature, exam schedule, test centre details and instructions to applicants.
  • In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, contact the Chairman JEE (Advanced), UCEED & CEED 2020 at IIT Bombay before the specified date via email mentioned in the registration portal.
  • Candidates must carry a government authorised photo identity proof along with the Admit Card to the exam venue on the exam day.
  • It is mandatory to carry the hard copy of the admit card to the examination centre otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

UCEED 2020 Exam Centres

Candidates should opt for 3 centres of their choice of preference for UCEED at the time of registration. After submitting the online application, request for change of the city will not be entertained under any circumstances.

International Centre at Dubai 

Candidates opting for Dubai centre should also compulsorily opt for 2 cities of their choice of preference from above 24 Indian cities while filling the application form. (if a number of registrations are less than 25, then the Dubai centre may be dropped from the final list, and those candidates will be allotted a centre from the 2 Indian cities of their choice of preference).

UCEED 2020 Application Form

The UCEED 2020 Application form was released on 09 October 2019 and could be filled till 15 November 2019. Candidates must go through the below-given guidelines to capture every important detail regarding UCEED Registration 2020:

  • If a candidate misses the last date to submit the form, they could submit it till 20 November 2019 with a late fee of Rs. 500/-.
  • The application form for UCEED examination was submitted through online mode only.
  • Candidates had to make sure that all the details given in the application form are correct and verified.
  • PwD candidates were given a scribe and or compensatory time (20 min/hr) during the exam.
  • The candidate had to upload the following documents:
    1. A recent colour photograph in either JPEG or JPG format.
    2. Scanned copy of the candidate’s full signature on white paper in either JPEG or JPG format.
    3. If the applicant appeared in 2019, qualifying examination certificate had to be uploaded in PDF format.
    4. Candidates appearing for the board exam in 2020 had to upload a certificate from the school/college principal in PDF format.
    5. If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name in PDF format.
    6. OBC-NCL, Caste (for SC), Tribe (for ST) or PwD certificate issued by a competent authority in PDF format.

UCEED 2020 Application Fees

UCEED 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidate, including a foreign national, must have fulfilled every criterion to appear in UCEED. Candidates can  read the below points to know the UCEED 2020 eligibility criteria:

Eligibility Criteria for Applying in UCEED 2020

Age Limit

  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1995 for OPEN or OBC-NCL categories.
  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1990 for SC, ST or PwD categories.

Number of Attempts

  • A candidate can appear for UCEED for a maximum of two times and only in consecutive years.
  • UCEED score is valid for one year only.

Qualifying Examination

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2019 or 2020.
  • Candidates from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects are eligible to apply for all four institutes—IITB, IITG, IITH and IIITDMJ.
  • Applicants from any other streams are also eligible to apply for UCEED.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying for B.Desh

Candidates have to fulfil the following criteria mentioned below to apply for the admission:

Age Limit

  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1995 for OPEN or OBC-NCL categories.
  • Candidate should have been born on or after 01 October 1995 for SC, ST or PwD categories.

UCEED Qualification

The candidates should have qualified and obtained a rank in UCEED 2020.

Qualifying Examination

  • The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (Class 10+2 or equivalent) in 2019 or 2020. Those who had appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2018 or earlier are NOT eligible.
  • Applicants from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects are eligible to apply to all the four institutes. Candidates from any other stream (Science without Maths or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur.
  • The candidates appearing for Class XII or equivalent in 2020 should ensure that:

(a) The final examination is completed in all respects by the date of registration in the respective admitting institute, and

(b) Proof of passed qualifying examination with required eligibility is submitted by 30 September 2020, to the admitting institute.
