IIT Patna Admission Process 2020 for B.Tech, M.Tech., M.Sc. & Ph.D.

Admission to IIT Patna is done on the basis of ranks scored in various national level Joint Entrance Exams depending on the course candidate want to enrol. For B.tech, admission is based on JEE Advanced Rank, For M.Tech and M.Sc. courses admission is based on GATE and IIT JAM score respectively exam score. Whereas for Ph.D. admission candidates have to qualify the entrance test conducted by IIT Patna itself followed by Personal Interview and Counselling round.
IIT Patna B.Tech Admission 2020
IIT Patna offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) course in eight different specializations for four years. For admission in B.Tech courses, candidates have to go through the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination. Final selection of candidates is done on the basis of JEE exam followed by a centralised counselling.

IIT Patna M.Tech Admission 2020
IIT PATNA provides admission in M.Tech programme in eight different specializations that include almost all the aspects of technology. Minimum duration of the M Tech programme is two years (four semesters). Admission is provided on the basis of counselling followed by interview and admission test. Candidates with a valid GATE score can apply.
IIT Patna provides admission in M.Sc in two specialization of science which includes Physics and Chemistry. Candidates qualifying in JAM can apply for admission to any of the corresponding academic programmes. Qualified candidates in JAM have to participate in counselling ‘CCMN’ for admission to M.Sc programme in some Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) including IIT Patna.

IIT Patna Ph.D. Admission 2020
IIT Patna provides admission in Ph.D programmes in Engineering, Science, and Humanities & Social Sciences.
This college offers both full time and part-time Ph.D programmes. Part-time Ph.D programme is only for the professionally employed person (can includes the staffs of IIT Patna).
Important Points to Note:
- For admission in Ph.D. course, candidate's age must be below 28 years (B.Tech./B.E./M.Sc./MA/MCA/MBA) and 32 years (M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Phil.) from the last date for receiving the application form. Candidates from Scheduled Castes/Schedules Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC will be given a relaxation up to 05 years.
- Foreign students can only apply for the full time courses.
The minimum duration of the Ph.D Programme is four semesters for candidates with M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Phil. and six semesters for other degrees. The maximum duration for PhD programme is 6 years from the date of admission for a full-time candidates and 7 years for a part-time candidates.
